Lactic acid and almond acid are popular ingredients used in skin care cosmetics. Lactic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that acts on superficial layers of the skin, exfoliating the corneal epidermis, as well as stimulating the process of cell regeneration and improving skin hydration. Almond acid also exfoliates, but additionally acts anti-inflammatory and brightening on skin discoloration. The combination of these acids in cosmetics can therefore effectively exfoliate, moisturize and lighten the skin.
