How do PCL threads work?

Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a synthetic polymer that, after a certain time, completely dissolves in the tissue. The lysis time of polycaprolactone is longer than for PDO or PLLA. The idea of using PCL thread in aesthetic treatments was born in Korea. The procedure involves inserting PCL threads under the skin (in selected areas) using a very thin needle. After introduction, the needle is removed and the skin is bandaged. The treatment used produces a specific scaffolding around which the body begins neocollagenesis (production of new collagen fibers), stimulation of fibroblasts to increased synthesis of elastin and synthesis of endogenous hyaluronic acid.
